Selection

All Calypso™ mangoes are delivered to customers ripe and ready to eat - this means they will be firm and highly blushed. A Calypso™ mango is perfect to eat when the flesh yields slightly at your touch (just don't press too hard!)

Storage

Store fruit in your fruit bowl or place in the refrigerator for a couple of hours for a chilled snack. (Be careful not to chill mangoes for too long, they will blemish if kept at cool temperatures for extended periods.) Use within 2-3 days.

EASY TO EAT AND COOK

  • Raw: simply slice cheeks of the Calypso™, score diagonally across the flesh of each cheek and push back skin to eat.
  • Breakfast - Perfect for juice, smoothies, fruit salad, on your cereal or even make them into fluffy pancakes!
  • On the side - Tantalise in jams, chutneys, pickles, dips.
  • Drinks - for a cool treat, the Calypso™ may be pulped and frozen into ice cubes, ready to use in your favourite drinks. Use to make delicious smoothies, cocktails and fruit punches.
  • Savoury- add to a wide range of savoury dishes from curries, roulades, tartlets, salads and kebabs. The Calypso™ compliments seafood, chicken and veal and is also great thrown on the barbeque and sautéed.
  • Desserts - Ideal for use in ice cream, cheesecakes, mousses, puddings, crepes and fruit salads.
  • Kids Treats - pulp and make into ice blocks for a healthy summer snack.
